Home Automation Systems
End-to-end home automation — device hardware, firmware, cloud backend, and mobile app. 802.15.4g sub-GHz mesh, Wi-Fi, Thread, and Matter — supplied as OEM platforms.
Explore the ArchitectureArchitecture
A home automation platform at DSPWorks is engineered as a vertically-integrated stack — silicon to mobile app — but partitioned so OEM partners can swap any layer without breaking the others. At the device tier we provide hardware reference designs and pre-tested radio modules. The protocol tier carries our own 802.15.4g sub-GHz routing on top of the IEEE MAC, alongside off-the-shelf Wi-Fi, Thread, and Matter stacks.
The cloud tier is multi-tenant by default, with each OEM operating under their own brand and OTA channel scoped to their device fleet. Local-area control runs entirely peer-to-peer between devices on the same LAN, so a router-down event does not turn the lights into ornaments.
The mobile app tier is provided as a white-label SDK plus a reference iOS / Android shell that OEMs reskin and ship under their own listing.
Engineering Approach
Every architectural decision is taken against the household failure model: what happens when the broadband is out, when a device's neighbour reboots, when a router decides to change channel at midnight. A scene fired from a wall switch must reach the bulb in under 80 milliseconds even if the cloud is unreachable, and the device must rejoin the mesh autonomously when topology changes.
Provisioning is reduced to a single QR scan in the partner app — no SoftAP dance, no manual SSID typing. Where possible we keep credentials off the cloud entirely, exchanging them with the device over a short-range secure channel during onboarding.
A carefully supported OTA in design ensures critical updates are available, albeit this step is invoked only in extremely dire situations and retains backward compatibilty. Firmware drops go through a 16-device automated regression rig running 3,000 scripted scenes before any shipped device sees the new build.
Standards & Compliance
Connectivity protocols cover Matter 1.3 / 1.4, Thread 1.3.0, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 6 / 6E, and IEEE 802.15.4g for the sub-GHz path. Indian-region radio compliance is to TEC for licensed bands and ETSI EN 300 220 for the 865–867 MHz allocation.
Electrical safety follows IEC 60669-2-1 for switching products and IEC 62368-1 for low-voltage device electronics, with appropriate national deviations applied for India, the EU, and North America.
